They make fresh juices that compliment any of their healthy and delicious meals. They are right in the heart of Simpson Bay. They also have a darling giftshop featuring collectibles, art, jewelry, and books. Also... they sell YOGA MATS! :) So if you forgot yours on the this trip, pick one up here. Open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Closed on Sundays).
Best Breakfast:Zee Best Bakery in Simpson Bay and Fig in Cupecoy Zee Best offers freshly baked pastries BEFORE your meal... just try and resist! As a matter of fact, don't - they are worth it, especially the almond croissant. Also, Kara, the owner, offers a "home cooked" meal option once a week. You can find her contact information on their facebook page here.
Fig has great coffee, service, and brie / mushroom / ham omelets. Best Beach:Tahoma Beach Restaurant & Bar I love it here. It is out of a post card. The sand is soft and luxurious. It is never too crowded, and the water is very calm. Food is AMAZING. Try the lobster risotto or tuna tartar. WOW.
Best Fine Dining:Temptation and Rare in Atlantis Casino near Cupecoy Amazing. From the $80 bottle of Purple Angel (it is usually $120+ in the US, if you can even find it), to the crab cake beignets, to the gourmet prawn pad thai and New Zealand Lamb Chops. My taste buds freaked out. Also, service is impecable.
Best Activity (Besides Yoga):Power Rafting w/ www.TourSXM.com Imagine you and a group of friends heading out on the high seas to explore hidden islands in and around St. Maarten... A couple of my really good friends, Adam and Kim, run TourSXM.com - and offer trips aboard their amazing fast and fun Power Rafts, the famous Golden Eagle Catamaran, and the "Explorer," their double-decker party boat. You can book directly online at: www.TourSXM.com. And prepare for fun! Best Thai: Panlaan Thai on the Bayside This Thai joint is the only authentic Thai-owned and operated place on SXM. The curry is delicious. The beef broccoli is to die for, and the Pad Thai is delicious. It is located across from the movie theatre on the bay side.
Best Indian: TIE: Lal's Curry in a Hurry & Bombay Bites (Simpson Bay) Lal's wins for: ambiance (its on the Bay, on the water) and has the best Navataran Veggie Korma. Bombay Bites is located upstairs of McDonald's in Simpson Bay, but don't let their location fool you. They have friendly service, and excellent garlic nan and butter chicken. :) I eat at both once a week.
